A Tribute to Summers End

Basking in the warm glow of the last of summer’s light, the northern hemisphere says goodbye to the moment that was, and welcomes a season anew in Fall.

In the last days of salty, windswept skin and hair from long days at the beach, we focus on the minimum. Less is more when it comes to makeup in the warmer months, with only a light enhancement of natural features needed. But with this emphasis on the basic, each step needs to be executed with precision.

Curling lashes and careful application of mascara is a must, covering the base of the lashes, whilst keeping the ends feathered and light.

Skin should be exfoliated weekly and hydrated at night, while protected in the day from the elements. Skin at it’s best is on a need-to basis, with coverage applied with a light hand and only where necessary.

Playing with the summer afternoon sun would be lost without the play with light, as shown with a simple use of sequins and a light touch of shimmery eyeshadow. All inspired from the mood and look of Bjork’s 1993 album cover- Debut.

Skin is prepped with: Crealine by Bioderma, Jojoba oil and a light spritz of MAC’s charged water spray.

Base: Cover FX cream concealer foundation used with a light hand only on blemishes.

Skin Highlights: Skin Perfector in Pearl by Becca

Cheeks: Stila Cream Blush in Peony

Lips: MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner in Soothing Beige

For light sparkle on lids: Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Fantasme

Black Kohl Liner: Chanel Le Crayon Kohl in Black
